Ash Leslie is an abstract artist based on the coast South of Sydney. After nearly a decade in graphic design, Leslie discovered a renewed intensity for painting while on maternity leave with her first daughter. The work was made in quiet intervals, often in the margins of the day. Early exhibitions in local cafés and businesses met with encouragement, and from these beginnings, a practice took shape: rigorous, intimate, and unmistakably her own.

Leslie’s work has been featured in a range of group exhibitions around Victoria and New South Wales, including exhibiting as a finalist in The Paddington Art Prize in 2022 where she was the recipient The Nock Art Foundation Residency, a finalist in the Flow Art Prize at Wollongong Art Gallery in 2023, a finalist Signature Art Prize and Regional Landscape Prize in 2024. Ash has had solo showings in Paddington Sydney, and in Melbourne with The Design Files. This year she has had solo shows with AK Bellinger Gallery, Boom Gallery and Michael Reid Gallery’s.
