Artist Statement
I like to paint intuitively — losing myself in the process and letting my instinct take over is a huge part of my process. As the layers build up, I love that moment when something unexpected appears. That feeling of surprise and wonder is what keeps drawing me back to the canvas.
I want my work to sit in that space where you're not totally sure what you're looking at, but it feels somehow familiar. I like giving the viewer room to sit with that feeling.
A lot of my work circles around self, motherhood and the natural world. These are the things that connect me to something beyond the everyday, and painting is how I make sense of them.
